RENTAL AGREEMENT
Booking Terms & Fees
To secure your reservation and date, we require a non-refundable 40% deposit. Your booking is confirmed only upon receipt of this payment. The remaining balance and security bond must be paid in full at least 7 days before your event. All equipment remains our property until all fees are cleared.
Hire Period & Transport
The standard rental period covers 24 hours including your event date. Logistical handovers and returns will be scheduled accordingly. We offer delivery and collection services throughout Adelaide. Delivery fees are calculated based on your specific location and the specific requirements of your event setup.
Clients must inspect all items upon receipt. Any issues or missing pieces must be reported to our team within 24 hours. If no contact is made, it is understood that all inventory was delivered in perfect condition and meets the professional standards required for your event and photography.
Items must be returned in their original condition. Additional charges apply for late returns, professional cleaning if required, missing items, or any damage found during the rental term. Please ensure all packaging materials provided are returned to prevent damage during transit.
Care Protocols & Security Bonds
Our collection contains fragile, one-of-a-kind vintage heritage pieces. The client holds total financial and legal responsibility for all hired assets from the moment they leave our facility until they are returned and successfully pass our quality control inspection.
All items, especially cake stands and serveware, must be placed on stable surfaces away from heat or moisture. Outdoor events require protection from wind and direct sunlight. Sharp utensils must not be used on items to avoid scratching. We may restrict use if site conditions risk damaging the assets.
Responsibility for the items extends to all interactions, including those by the hirer, guests, caterers, or venue staff. The client is strictly liable for any damage or mishandling that occurs during the rental window, regardless of who was handling the items at the time.
A $250 security bond is required for all bookings, refundable 7–10 days after inspection. This covers loss, breakages, or cleaning. Cutlery must be hand-rinsed immediately to prevent tarnishing and must never enter a dishwasher. Specific handling failures will result in bond deductions. Damages exceeding this bond remain the client's legal financial liability.
Loss & Damage Provisions
If an item is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond professional repair, the hirer will be invoiced for the full current replacement cost of that specific piece to allow for collection restoration.
As our inventory includes rare heirloom pieces, exact replacements are often impossible. In these cases, we determine a fair market valuation based on rarity, historical significance, and sourcing costs to maintain the collection's integrity. These valuations are final and binding for the hirer.
Changes & Cancellations
We understand that plans can change. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. While initial deposits are non-refundable, we will attempt to accommodate date changes depending on our current schedule and piece availability for your new timeframe.
Cancellations must be made in writing. The following terms apply to all hire items: • 30+ days notice: Full refund of fees (less non-refundable deposit). • 29–15 days notice: 10% of hire total is non-refundable. • 14–2 days notice: 20% of hire total is non-refundable. • Within 48 hours: 50% of hire total is non-refundable. • Within 24 hours or day of event: No refund of hire value. • Rescheduled Events: If an event has been previously moved, no refunds apply upon cancellation. Note: Security bonds are always refunded in full for cancellations made prior to the event date.
Media & Legal Terms
We reserve the right to photograph our setups on-site for promotional use. We respect your privacy and will ensure no guests or personal details are featured prominently in our portfolio or social media without your prior consent.
Neither party is liable for failure to perform due to circumstances beyond their control, such as natural disasters, government mandates, or major supply interruptions. These 'Force Majeure' events will be handled fairly on a case-by-case basis.
By making a payment or confirming our quote, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to these terms. This creates a legally binding contract between the client and My Local Business.
This agreement does not override Australian Consumer Law. However, by engaging our services, the client confirms they are bound by these industry-specific terms regarding the meticulous care, handling, and return of our specialist vintage inventory.
A Note on Authenticity
Please note that our collection consists of vintage and heirloom pieces. Due to their age and authentic nature, items may exhibit minor imperfections such as light surface wear or character marks. These characteristics are a normal part of their history and are not considered faults, but rather signs of their unique heritage.
